Description
Robert Lincoln talks to his mother’s doctor about his own relationship with his father. Responding to a question about his memory of their family life. At this point in the show Mary Lincoln has been committed by Robert and a court to an insane asylum outside of Chicago. It is very conversational until he remembers more specifically his father with his brothers and then gets quite excited and upset, the song peaks there. As it finishes, he is embarrassed by his own emotional state and admonishes the doctor for starting the conversation.
